When stuck with cold or flu during season change, or the allergy season, pain is caused by sinus pressure. Out of the several remedies used so far in clearing the sinus channel in the upper nasal opening and beneath the eyes, hydrogen peroxide has proven to be quite cheap and readily accessible.
Generally it requires around 5 to 10 minutes for an operation. For this you should be having some cotton swab, a towel or a cushion, some tissues and hydrogen peroxide in about 3 percent quantity.
Firstly the hydrogen peroxide’s cap should be removed, and then the cap should be fully filled with hydrogen peroxide. Then the cotton swab is soaked with hydrogen peroxide.
Then after tilting your head totally towards the left side, your neck should be supported with the cushion or the towel. The cotton scrub soaked with hydrogen peroxide must be then inserted into the right ear, just to squeeze and discharge two drops of it into the ear. Repeat the same procedure after dipping the cotton once more in the hydrogen peroxide.
You should be lying with the head slanted with hydrogen peroxide in the ear canal for at least 5 to maximum 10 minutes. It will make some crackling sound in the ear, but it is unlikely to cause any pain.
Then by applying a tissue to the ear, gradually rising the head to a usual vertical position, the excess of hydrogen peroxide is being removed.
Finally the same method is repeated with the left ear. Then the sinuses will feel extra clear on left side. For better effective results this hydrogen peroxide remedy should be applied in every three or four hours.
Though a dropper can be used as a substitute for cotton swabs, also care should be taken that the cotton is not inserted totally into your ear. Most importantly this method should not be used on young kids, as the bubbling or crackling noises may scare them.
